It’s business as usual and we are here to help you crisis proof your business and manage through difficult times.
Coronavirus searches may be the biggest trend in Google search history. From virtual work to schools and restaurant closings, as well as ever-present health concerns — no one has escaped its reach — this virus continues to leave its mark. But no faction may be hit fiscally harder than our nation’s 30.7 million small businesses in the US.
During times when small businesses are financially strapped even in the best of times, many of our local businesses scrape by with the help of friends, family and a robust economy. Coronavirus has changed this landscape, indefinitely.
NANZORIGINAL is business as usual and remains committed to help you crisis proof your business during these trying times. No one can predict how this pandemic will play out, but creating an actionable plan for how to survive amidst the chaos is a great first step.
Communication with people is more important now more than ever. Devising a well-thought out communications plan with various implementation tactics to mitigate losses, keep your business in the heart and minds of customers, and offer support to employees is a key step to making it through.
Keep everyone in the loop on what is going on with your business. As more and more people are home and on the Internet, they are checking online for updates, so be there for them.
Below are 5 steps you can take to help crisis-proof your business:
- Besides telling them about your business operations, tell your online audience what you are doing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 including what will happen to employees that count on your for work.
- Learn from examples in what other businesses are doing to keep their people in the loop and devise our own message about what you think is appropriate and represents your brand. Pay close attention to the wording and notice which messages make you feel empathetic and which ones turn you off.
- If you are considered an essential business and still open, communicate verbally and through signage on doors, display tables and counters to tell customers what you’re doing to keep everything clean and safe for them.
- If your website does not have an e-commerce solution and you are unable to operate during this time, be sure to update customers through email and social media posting on what you are doing to help people through these times of crisis. If you’re able to keep some momentum going by selling things over the phone or email, make plans to offer curbside pick up and/or provide delivery service. Your customers will appreciate you for the extra effort.
- If you are a service provider, consider offering virtual appointments through Zoom or some other type of online meeting technology. It’s a great way to let your customers know how much you care about their safety and well-being.
